At the end of July 2024, in Damao Banner, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia, a green power supply project full of challenges and opportunities is quietly kicking off. Zhejiang Wolong Energy Storage System Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Wolong Energy Storage") has successfully won the bid for Section I (the DC side of the 1# energy storage power station) of the 135MW/540MWh electrochemical energy storage project in the green power supply project of the Baotou Aluminum Industry Park in the first 900,000-kilowatt wind power project in the Baotou Renewable Energy Comprehensive Demonstration Zone. The extreme minimum temperature at the project site can reach -40°C, which imposes strict requirements on the performance and reliability of the energy storage system.

Facing the harsh natural conditions, Wolong Energy Storage will deploy an advanced 81MW/324MWh DC-side energy storage system, adopting lithium iron phosphate battery technology to ensure stable operation in extreme environments and provide continuous power support for 4 hours for the wind power project. This energy storage system will not only significantly improve the stability of the power output of the wind farm but also enhance the flexibility of the entire power grid, providing a solid backing for the green power supply of the Baotou Aluminum Industry Park.

This project is not only a significant demonstration of Wolong Energy Storage's technological strength but also an important step in promoting the application of clean energy and the progress of energy storage technology in the northern region of our country. Through this cooperation, Wolong Energy Storage will jointly write a new chapter in the green energy transition with Baotou City.
